Abstract

Kajian dengan menggunakan bahan Komsas oleh para pengkaji setakat ini kebanyakannya tertumpu kepada nilai-nilai murni dan masalah pengajaran dan pembelajaran Komsas sebaliknya kurang memberikan tumpuan terhadap analisis kesopanan berasaskan teori linguistik. Bahan sastera diyakini dapat berfungsi sebagai wadah untuk menyemai keinsanan, kebijaksanaan berbicara, kehalusan budi bahasa, sikap dan minda yang positif selain bertujuan untuk menghargai kehidupan. Justeru, kajian ini akan menjelaskan kesopanan berbahasa dalam teks Komsas yang digunakan oleh para murid Tingkatan 4 Zon 4 di negeri Johor, Sabah, Sarawak dan Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan, Malaysia. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengklasifikasi dan memetakan struktur peristiwa bahasa berdasarkan dialog yang diujarkan oleh watak utama dan watak sampingannya dalam bab 17 dan 19 novel ini. Kajian ini mengaplikasikan kombinasi Prinsip Kesopanan Leech (1983) dan Prinsip Kerjasama Grice (1975) yang telah membentuk Model Pola Kombinasi Maksim Umum (MPKMU) berdasarkan prinsip tepat, hampir sama dan ekonomis. Terdapat enam pola dalam MPKMU. Hasil dapatan menunjukkan pematuhan terhadap dua pola kombinasi maksim dalam MPKMU, iaitu Pola 1 dan Pola 2 berdasarkan prinsip hampir sama. Pemetaan struktur peristiwa bahasa pula memperlihatkan struktur yang digunakan dalam setiap peristiwa bahasa bervariasi atas faktor objektif komunikasi yang berbeza-beza bagi memanifestasikan kesopanan. Kesimpulannya, kesopanan berbahasa dalam bahan Komsas dapat memberikan pendedahan tentang penggunaan dan pemilihan unsur bahasa yang sesuai agar komunikasi menjadi lebih berkesan dan mendatangkan manfaat kepada semua pihak.
